The Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) project – now known as Great Yorkshire Way – providing a new highway from the M18 at junction 3 to Doncaster Sheffield Airport with links into Rossington and the iPort development.
The main section a three mile link from junction three of the M18 to the A638 Bawtry Road, a collaboration between Doncaster Council and three major private sector developers; Verdion, Peel and Harworth Estates, began in October 2013 and was completed and opened on 29 February 2016.
Sword carried out works on this project under sub-contract to the main contractor Carillion between December 2013 and February 2016.
Sword carried out RFC works in the construction of:-
- 6 no. Bridges
- 2 no. Subways
- 3 no. Pipe culverts
- 4 no. Box Culverts
Works were required to take place during possessions and over and next to live rail and watercourses.
