The Company’s Chair of the Board Ian Sword, has more than 50 years of experience in the Construction Industry.
Ian came from humble beginnings as a steel-fixer, to establish his first company in 1977. He has seen the expansion of his companies and services offered even through difficult economic times, always priding himself on providing a quality service, on time, within budget and in a safe working environment.
Melissa Sword
Managing Director and Director for Health and Safety
Melissa joined the family business in 2002.
Melissa has worked in and managed many aspects of the business during this time, working closely with the Operations Directors and site teams. Since 2007 in particular managing the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities. Melissa constantly monitors and seeks to improve the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality Management and performance overall including, its contract administration, costs and project management.
Luke Daley
Operations Director
Luke is a time served tradesman with more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, he has progressed through all levels of the industry. Luke is able to provide hands on technical input at all stages of a project and has a wide base of experience within heavy civils, including bridges and structures on road and rail networks, water treatment facilities and power stations. Through his career he has managed contracts up to in excess of £20 million.
Andy Lambert
Operations Director
Andy started in the industry as a formwork carpenter. Throughout his career he has progressed his expertise and gained industry knowledge to rise through the ‘ranks’, he has built his experience with key clients on rail projects, and has particular experience of waste to energy facility projects. Andy is also a qualified CPCS Lifting Appointed Person.
Ant Cunningham
Operations Director
Ant started his career in the industry as a steel-fixer. He has climbed the ladder through his career in the industry to Site Supervisor, Site Manager to Contracts Manager and now holds the position of Operations Director for Sword.
Ant is able to bring practical experience and Management Skills together on a variety of civils projects including rail head facilities and tidal flood barriers.
